What is Benzyl Alcohol?

Benzyl alcohol is one of the simplest aromatic alcohols, which can be regarded as phenyl-substituted methanol. In nature, most of the esters are present in essential oils, such as jasmine oil, hyacinth oil and Peru balsam.

1. Benzyl alcohol is a very useful fixative, jasmine, moon incense, Ilan and other essential ingredients when the deployment of spices. For the preparation of soap; daily makeup fragrance.
2. Benzyl alcohol can be slowly natural oxidation, part of the formation of benzaldehyde and benzyl ether, so commonly marketed products with almond flavor, it should not be long storage.
3. Benzyl alcohol is widely used in the production of industrial chemicals. For paint solvents; photographic developer; PVC stabilizer; medicine; synthetic resin solvents; vitamin b injection solution; ointment or liquid preservative.

Shelf life: The shelf life of the oil is two years if unopened in the original package. Once opened the oil should be blanketed under Nitrogen and used within six months.
