additional assembly. This has the added benefit of a seamless
construction and is ideal for waterproof or airtight applications.
Deep drawing stamping is highly versatile and can be used to create complex, detailed assemblies with exceptional precision and repeatability. What's more, deep drawn parts are very strong due to the extreme amount of compression applied to the metal during the forming process. The basic structure of deep drawn metals is usually highly compressed into a very hard crystalline structure.
Precautions for Metal Stamping
1. Reduced material waste: Deep drawing uses more base material
than other metal forming processes, thus significantly reducing
material waste.
2. Measurements are critical: It is not only important to ensure
that the dimensions of the mold are accurate, it is equally
important to consider the material thickness and the required
measurements. Incorrect measurements can result in thin walls and
inaccurate dimensions.
3. Draft and taper: Due to the basic manufacturing process of deep
drawing, some draft and taper at the top of the part is
unavoidable. This should be taken into account during the initial
design phase.
4. Different material thicknesses: Deep-drawn parts usually have
different thicknesses, with thinner walls and thicker bases. This
can be mitigated with tools after the drawing process is complete.
