PISTON STRUCTURE:
The entire piston can be divided into three parts: the piston top,
the piston head and the piston skirt.
The main function of the piston is to withstand the combustion
pressure in the cylinder and transmit this force to the crankshaft
through the piston pin and connecting rod. In addition, the piston
also forms a combustion chamber together with the cylinder head and
the cylinder wall.
The top of the piston is a component of the combustion chamber, and
thus often has different shapes. The top of the piston of the
gasoline engine adopts a flat top or a concave top, so that the
combustion chamber has a compact structure, a small heat
dissipation area, and a simple manufacturing process. The crown
piston is commonly used in two-stroke gasoline engines. The piston
crown of a diesel engine is often made into various pits.
The piston head is the part above the piston pin seat. The piston
head is equipped with a piston ring to prevent high temperature and
high pressure gas from entering the crankbox and preventing the oil
from entering the combustion chamber. Most of the heat absorbed by
the top of the piston also passes through the piston head. The part
is passed to the cylinder and passed through the cooling medium.
The piston head is machined with a number of ring grooves for
mounting the piston ring. The number of piston rings depends on the
sealing requirements and is related to the engine speed and
cylinder pressure. High-speed engines have fewer rings than
low-speed engines, and gasoline engines have fewer rings than
diesel engines. The general gasoline engine uses two gas rings and
one oil ring; the diesel engine has three gas rings and one oil
ring; the low speed diesel engine uses three to four gas rings. In
order to reduce the friction loss, the height of the endless belt
should be reduced as much as possible, and the number of rings
should be reduced under the condition of ensuring the seal.
THE FUNCTION OF CYLINDER LINER/SLEEVE:
a) It froms cylinder working space together with the cylinder head & piston;
b) Gas seal: prevent the compressed gas, combustion gas pressure
leak outward;
c) The trunk piston diesel engine cylinder liner piston under the
lateral thrust, become a piston reciproing movement of the lead;
d) Heat transfer: passes the piston component and its heat to the
cooling water, and makes the appropriate operating temperature;
e) The formation of sliding surface: as the lining of the engine,
the format sliding surface with piston and piston ring;
f) Two-stroke diesel engine cylinder liner is decorated with port,
opening & closing by the piston, so as to realize distribution;
7) Surface treatment: chromed, phospated, polished, aluminum
inclusive;
