    1. Application

    Fluid-bed processing is mainly used for the mixing of powder material, drying and granulating (coating) in pharmaceutical, food, chemical, agricultural and sideline product processing industries, such as tablet, instant powder and condiment granules. The process of feeding and discharging material for this equipment should be finished in the airtight space to avoid powder spreading to the working environment. It‘s controlled by PLC. For wet type granulating machine, it adopts negative pressure or air blast to make the finished granules enter the fluid bed for drying in airtight way.


    Brief introduction for top spray system


    It consists of a cone-shaped material trough and diffusion (spraying) chamber. The processing airflow passes through the airflow distribution board and screen net from the trough bottom to enter this equipment. When the flow rate of inlet air overcomes its gravitational force, the material in trough can form eddy flow to move (fluid bed).

    • The inlet airflow from the bottom up will push the material in the trough to move upward. As with a certain angle of the trough, the aggregative fluidization of the material in it is very intense.
    • The material pushed by the airflow, enters into the diffusion chamber. As the space of diffusion chamber is larger than that of trough, the air flow velocity in chamber will be lower than in trough and the speed of material granules in chamber will decrease. When the gravity force of granule itself overcomes the pushing force of inlet airflow from the bottom up, it will fall down and return to the edge area of trough. In the whole process, the granules will move back and forth between diffusion chamber and trough to form irregular fluidization.
    • The aim of granulating machine is using fine powder to produce dust-free and flexible granules. Coating refers to coat for those finished fine and uniform granules.
    • When granulating and coating with top spray device of fluid bed, the powder or granules rise from the trough bottom in fluidized state; the adhesive or coating liquid is sprayed to the fluid bed by the nozzle of spray gun installed in the diffusion (spraying) chamber to granulate or coat the material. Via the thermal current entering from bottom and heated airflow distribution board to do heat exchange, the material will be dried.
    • In the phase of material being blown by air, the surface of each granule will be fully showed in the airflow so that it can achieve the best atomizing spray medium and drying result.
    • The top spray technique is suitable for drying process. Dismount the spray gun in diffusion (spraying) chamber, the top spray device turns to be a fluid bed drier.

    2. Technique Instruction

    2.1. Air inlet processing system

    • The air inlet damper is installed on the air hose for obtaining air directly from outdoors. It is equipped with 100 meshes stainless steel filter net, which opens with machine turning on and closes with machine turning off to avoid outdoor air entering.
    • Primary and medium efficiency air inlet cabinets are made of stainless steel, equipped with quick-open door, which can install the air inlet filter efficiently, and differential pressure measuring connector to install the differential pressure gauge or sensor.
    • It’s optional for primary and medium efficiency air inlet cabinets to be equipped with below item:
      • Primary filter ceiling G4 level
      • Medium efficiency filter ceiling F9 level
    • Heater: it’s installed with steam heater or electrical heater in the hot air channel to heat the inlet air. The steam heater is equipped with PID control valve while the electrical heater with SCR silicon controlled electric governor to control the air inlet heating.
    • Air inlet damper

    2.2 Main machine

    • The main machine can be divided into four parts: machine base, material tank, diffusion chamber and filter chamber.
    • Machine base: it is located at the bottom of machine and equipped with head ring, which can rise and fall. At its both sides, two pneumatic cylinders are installed to lift up the material tank and lock the three parts of tank, diffusion chamber and filter chamber, one for each side; at its back, there is an air inlet connecting with air inlet damper. It’s also equipped with bottom drain valve, CIP cleaning gun connector, inlet air temperature connector, air blowing rate and speed measuring connector.
    • Material tank: it ‘s placed on the movable carriage with four casters, installed with two sight glasses, adopting pressure-proof lens of 12Bar, material sensor connector and on-line sampling device.
    • Diffusion chamber: installed with two sight glasses, adopting pressure-proof lens of 12Bar.
    • Filter chamber: double compartment structure, installed with two sight glasses, adopting pressure-proof lens of 12Bar.
    • Equipped with anti-static filter bag frame to install two anti-static filter bags (bore diameter: 150meshes).
    • PLC controls pneumatic cylinder shaking two bags in turn.

    2.3. Spraying system

    • Equip with peristaltic pump to feed liquid.
    • Liquid feeding trolley, 10L barrel with pneumatic stirring, three-flow top spray gun atomizer with 304stainless steel.

    2.4. Exhaust system

    • The filter chamber is equipped with two exhaust dampers
    • The Y-shape exhaust pipe is equipped with outlet air temperature connector.

    2.5. Control system

    • It’s equipped with operation cabinet, electrical and pneumatic control cabinet.
    • The operation panel is installed on the stainless steel operation cabinet, 10 inch touch screen, human machine interface.

    • LCD color button and emergency stop button
    • All the other electrical appliances and pneumatic components are installed in the stainless steel control cabinet.
    • Monitor and control the Max/min value of operating parameters.
    • The PID software is carried out inner PLC and its parameters are defined by each control operator.
    • Alarm for the Max/Min value of single operating parameter as below:
      • When the compressed air doesn’t satisfy the setting value, lock the other operations and alarm under working condition.
      • When any part of this machine not in right place, lock the other operations and alarm under working condition.
      • Lock the falling of material trough under normal operating status.
      • When the pressure of compressed air for atomizing becomes low, stop feeding liquid automatically / alarm.
    • For any error of system, the alarming message will display on the screen and flicker with red frame.
    • When operating the help file, it will display more detailed information to help the operators know about the machine system faster to reduce the operating mistakes.

    2.6. Parameters--can be set & measured by this equipment and controlled by PID

    • Air inlet capacity: it can be measured by air quantity sensor & transmitter and draught fan transducer, auto-controlled with PID (optional) according to setting value.
    • Air inlet temperature: it can be measured by temperature sensor and auto-controlled with PID according to setting value.
    • Atomizing pressure: ①regulate it by manual reducing valve and display it by pressure gauge.

    2.7. Parameters-display in operational process

    • The blowing rate can be set and adjusted precisely by transducer; usually we use the unit of HZ to measure the speed of draught fan.
    • The inlet air temperature can be set and displayed as xxx℃, with the fluctuation range of±2℃.
    • The material temperature can be set and displayed as xxx℃, with the fluctuation range of±1℃.
    • Can display the exhaust temperature as xxx℃ and set the final drying temperature.

    1. Brief introduction of CIP one-way cleaning system

    The cleaning machine consists of main frame, water pipeline, cleaning ball, high-pressure booster pump, control valve and control system. After quick-connecting the water inlet of cleaning machine with customer’s water inlet pipe, start the cleaning procedure to finish this process automatically.



    Left and right crossing bag shaking, it shakes while the equipment is working , no need to stop the machine, therefore the powder dust won’t get blocked, and the cloth bag is more than other suppliers,whose equipment needs to stop first and then do the shaking.

    The automatic proportional valve for air inlet, the very key part for the whole drying processing, it is equipment on machine, to control and adjust the air volume automatically as per the material drying degree and temperature. Besides, our valve is solid core and airtight. For other manufacturer, it is just controlled by a common valve and cyliner for opening and closing the door, so the air volume is either too big or too small which will influence the whole process.

    The auto water drain pipe is for the automatic water draining.
